Avocet Battery Materials Recognised in Parliament for Advancing UK Manufacturing and Drone Battery Innovation

Nov 11, 2025

On Monday 3rd November, Avocet Battery Materials received an honourable mention in Parliament from Sarah Russell, MP for Congleton, following her recent visit to our Holmes Chapel site.

We were proud to host MP Russell on October 24th, where we shared our plans to expand our operations and help strengthen the UK’s advanced manufacturing base, particularly by diversifying into components and materials for drone battery production.

During the parliamentary session, MP Russell highlighted Avocet’s ambitions and the challenges that innovative businesses face when entering competitive international markets. She emphasised the importance of clear, consistent government support to help companies like ours break through and scale up.

“I recently visited Avocet, an innovative manufacturing company based in Holmes Chapel in my constituency. They are looking to grow by diversifying into supplying components and materials for drone battery production… They expressed to me the potential for improved support and guidance from the government in order to break into and thrive within this competitive international market.”

MP Sarah Russell, Kieren Hall (CEO), and Graham Hall (Founder) at Avocet Materials Group.

She then asked the minister to outline how the government intends to support British manufacturers and whether he agrees that helping businesses like Avocet unlocks vital opportunities for economic growth.

In response, the minister acknowledged the critical role of companies like ours in the future of the UK’s economy and national security:

“Firms like that hold the future of our security and the future of our economic growth. That’s why we’ve set up UK Defence Innovation… and we’ve doubled to £4 billion the amount of money that we will invest in British drones and autonomy over this Parliament.”

A Proud Moment for Avocet Battery Materials
